Bamys: for baby alpaca, merino, yak, and silk!
One word to describe it? Exquisite.
Composition:
42% Baby alpaca, 13% Merino 18.5 Microns, 10% Yak, and 35% Silk. It’s the perfect substitute for mohair yarn.
The soft, warm color of natural yak gives a warm tone to the yarn.
Bamys is very pleasant to knit and creates a very soft yak halo. The resulting fabric is very light and warm.
Ideal for lace shawls/cowls and lightweight sweaters, and it works very well to add a warm halo with any other yarn.
Our yarns are hand-dyed. So you need to plan the necessary quantity for your projects, as the color may vary from one dye lot to another. We take care to reproduce the color of our images as faithfully as possible, however, screen displays may vary. Thus the color of the skeins you receive may vary slightly from the photo displayed. For more uniform knitting, I recommend alternating your skeins.
Suggested sizes and gauge for needles:
Needle: The gauge on 3 mm (between US2 and US3) is 26 stitches and 46 rows.
Can very well be used with larger needles for a more airy knit.
Yardage: 400 meters/50 g. (437 yards/50 g.)
Care:
Hand wash with a wool soap like Soak, ideally, room temperature (21°C). Avoid agitation or wringing.
Dry flat away from direct sunlight, do not wring or tumble dry.
Not machine washable yarn (non sw).
