Description
Numa is a lace weight yarn made of baby alpaca (70%) and silk (30%). Untreated.
Very soft and pleasant, Numa knits perfectly with a strand of fingering as a replacement for mohair, for example. It produces a fine halo.
Our yarns are hand-dyed. So you need to plan the necessary quantity for your projects, as the color may vary from one dye lot to another. We take care to reproduce the color of our images as faithfully as possible, however, screen displays may vary. Thus the color of the skeins you receive may vary slightly from the photo displayed. For more uniform knitting, I recommend alternating your skeins.
Suggested needle sizes and gauge:
Needle: 2.5 – 3.5 mm (US 1.5 – 4),
Yardage: 800 meters/100 g (874 yards/100 g)
Care:
Hand wash with a wool soap like Soak, ideally at room temperature (21 °C). Avoid agitation or wringing.
Dry flat away from direct sunlight, do not wring or tumble dry.
Non-machine washable wool (non-SW).
Suggestion for a knitting project I made with the Numa base:
Grey Mist shawl
Inseparable available in the knitting kit section.
