Description
Ulysse De Rerum Natura is, like its big brother Gilliatt, a woolen-spun wool made from a blend of French white Arles Merino (Provence) and Portuguese black Merino (Alentejo Valley), raised with animal welfare and wool valorization in mind.
Every step in making this yarn is done through a short supply chain (Belgium or Italy for washing, France for spinning and dyeing), with a constant focus on traceability and reducing its environmental impact.
Available in natural shades from blending brown and white fleeces (“salt,” “white pepper,” “salt and pepper,” and “pepper”), and in a palette of subtly heathered dyed colorways.
ON THE NEEDLES
Made of two tightly twisted plies, this light, cushy, delicately fuzzy yarn is perfect for stranded colorwork, and also for fine cables or showcasing a nicely rustic lace.
CARE
This yarn is not superwash treated. We recommend washing your knit in lukewarm water with a suitable soap or detergent, then drying flat, avoiding rubbing or stretching. If you want to try your machine’s wool cycle, test it first with your swatch.
Please note that very dark or highly saturated shades, such as “emerald,” are more likely to bleed during blocking. If you plan to knit them with lighter colors, we recommend testing a swatch first. If you notice excess dye in the first wash, we suggest repeating the rinse bath until it runs clear before drying your project.

A little backstory:
Ulysse takes its name from the clever, well-traveled hero of the “Odyssey,” devoted to his Penelope.
