Description

Aliso DK – Baby Alpaca-Linen-Silk.

 

Behind its slightly rustic appearance lies a wonderful blend of softness that breathes freshness!

Ideal for knitting projects for warmer weather or for wearing your DK sweater indoors without getting too hot!

Composition:

50% Baby Alpaca, 25% Linen, and 25% Silk, DK weight.

Aliso DK is a joy to knit. Ideal for all garments and accessories. The resulting fabric is light and very breathable.

Our yarns are hand-dyed. Therefore, make sure to get the quantity needed for your projects, as colors may vary from one dye lot to another. We take care to reproduce the colors in our images as accurately as possible; however, screen displays may vary. Thus, the color of the skeins you receive may vary slightly from the photo shown. For a more uniform knit, I recommend alternating your skeins.

Suggested needle sizes and gauge:

Needle: Gauge on 3.25 mm is 22 stitches (US 3)

Works very well with needles between 3.25 mm and 4.5 mm (US 3 to US 7)

Yardage: 250 m / 100 g (273 yds / 3.52 oz.)

Care:

Hand wash with a wool soap like Soak, ideally at room temperature (21°C / 70°F). Avoid agitation or wringing.

Dry flat away from direct sunlight, do not wring, and do not tumble dry.

Non-superwash yarn (n sw).

A little history on the origin of the name of my Aliso DK base:

The Aliso was the last British royal yacht, in service from 1953 to 1997 (during the reign of Elizabeth II).
