Description
La Tibétaine – merino silk and yak. The yak gives the yarn its natural coloring and provides a rich, warm base!
A beautiful yarn to knit with—perfect for your precious knitting projects!
In other words, it’s perfect for knitting sweaters, shawls, and even socks!
It stands out for its gorgeous drape and incredible shine. Plus, it adds unique depth to the colorway.
La Tibétaine, merino silk and yak, knits up beautifully on its own. However, it can easily be held with a strand of mohair like l’Impératrice.
Our yarns are hand-dyed, so plan the quantity you need for your projects, as color may vary from one dye lot to another. We do our best to match our photos as closely as possible; however, screen colors may vary.
Thus, the color of the skeins you receive may vary slightly from the photo shown. For more uniform knitting, I recommend alternating your skeins.
Care: although La Tibétaine is washable (sw), I recommend washing your knits in cold water, by hand, and laying flat to dry.

65% Superwash merino, 20% silk, 15% yak

Yak is native to the Himalayas.
In conclusion, I wanted a name for this collection that reflects the place where one of the few wild herds in the world currently lives. Today, wild yaks are mainly found in northern Tibet and western Qinghai.
