Knitting Kit – Medvind by Elsebeth Judith
The Medvind is a beautiful sweater that I absolutely loved knitting!
It’s an oversized sweater with dropped shoulders (the shoulder seam is placed at the back of the sweater).
With its swan neckline, the split collar with curved front lines elongates our neck.
The sweater is knitted top-down in Half Fisherman’s Rib.
Medvind is available in sizes 1 (2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
corresponding to sizes XS (S, M, L/XL, 2XL, 3XL) with body ease and narrow sleeves.
Don’t be afraid of the positive ease! The Fisherman’s Rib pattern is a charming stitch pattern, but also ‘lively’ and it shortens and stretches, but the i-cords keep the sweater in shape.
The sample shown is size 3 (worn with approximately 38 cm / 15″ of positive ease at the body) at sleeve length. 44 cm / 17.25” total.
Medvind finished bust circumference: 113 (121, 129, 137, 145, 153) cm / 44.5 (47.5, 50.75, 54, 57, 60.25) inches.

The required quantity for each size from 1-6 is:
finished size of:
(1) 113 to (2) 121 cm: 4 skeins of 100 g.
3 (129), 4 (137) *5 (145) cm: 5 skeins of 100 g.
⇒* note that for size 5, according to the pattern, 5.07 skeins would be needed (I calculated 5 skeins, because for myself I used 38 g less than what my size required)
6 (153) cm: 6 skeins of 100 g.

Gauge:
In stockinette, 20 stitches x 44 rows for 10 cm.
Suggested needle in the pattern: 4 mm, 3.5 mm
*But be careful! Don’t forget to make your swatch and adjust your needles accordingly!
I highly recommend this pattern; it’s a magnificent project.
