This is a 100% non-superwash Highland wool from Peru.
The wool is processed in a spinning mill renowned for its high-quality fibers and fair treatment of employees, as highlighted by the Mirasol project.
Recently, this mill obtained “Fair Trade” certification.
Composition: 100% Highland wool.
Yardage: 180m/196yds/100g
Gauge: 22 stitches = 10 cm with needles
Care: machine washable. Dry flat.

What inspired Gathering yarn to name this base: Haynes Creek Aran – Gathering yarn.
Haynes is a rural farming community in central Alberta, in Lacombe County. This hamlet takes its name from the nearby creek, which was itself named after one of the early Prairie pioneers.
My father’s family settled in the area three generations before me, and my father started his own farm a kilometer from Haynes in 1963. It was a wonderful place to grow up, and I went on many bike rides to Haynes Creek with my siblings to skip stones and explore the muddy banks.
