Emi – Merino and Silk

Emi is a lovely blend of merino wool and silk. A beautiful combination of fibers for a luxurious knitting or crochet project.

It’s a beautiful knitting yarn that’s suitable for much more than just a pair of socks!

In other words, it’s perfect for knitting sweaters, shawls, and fine knitwear.

It stands out for its magnificent drape. Plus, it has an incredible shine.

Emi, merino and silk wool, can be knit on its own. However, it can easily be held together with a strand of Mohair like l’Impératrice.

Our yarns are hand-dyed. Therefore, you should plan for the quantity needed for your projects, as the color may vary from one dye lot to another. We take great care to reproduce the color of our images as accurately as possible, however screen colors may vary.

Thus, the color of the skeins you receive may vary slightly from the photo shown. For a more uniform knit, I recommend alternating your skeins.

For care, although Emi is washable (sw), I recommend washing your knits in cold water by hand and laying them flat to dry.

Available in lace and fingering weights.

80% Superwash merino, 20% silk

Gauge: 26-32 stitches/10 cm

Recommended needles: 2.25 – 3.5 mm

Lace: 800-meter skein per 100 g.

Gauge: 33-40 stitches/10 cm

In conclusion, I wanted a name from Asia for this collection.

The name Emi is a Japanese name written in hiragana as “恵美“. The reading of its kanji is “emi,” translating to “beauty,” “blessed,” “divine,” or “smiling.” The “i” ending indicates the feminine gender of the name. It thus evokes a child “blessed by beauty.”
